The cylinder may get stuck over time due to oxidation, scale or mineral build-up. As preventative measures we recommend drying the ROK thoroughly after use, storing it with the flexible white filter seal removed, and removing the cylinder regularly to wipe out any build-up from inside the frame.
To remove the cylinder, remove the top screw holding the levers together. Then, twist the cylinder counter-clockwise (looking down on top) and then up and out.
If your cylinder is firmly stuck, remove the flexible white filter screen from underneath the ROK. Looking up underneath the chamber you’ll see that the cylinder is held in place by 4 small metal tabs which slot into the base of the cylinder. Try using a pair of pliers to break the bottoms of the 4 plastic slots.
This should allow the cylinder to slide up and out without having to twist it. It may still be a bit of work to get out, depending on how much oxidation/scale is present. At least with the tabs removed it should be a bit less complicated to remove.
Obviously, we recommend having spare parts on hand in case you do have to break the cylinder for removal.
