Pressure is escaping from the top or bottom of the Bellman steamer

If pressure is escaping from the top of the Bellman steamer

This can occur if the o-rings or seals are not correctly in place and/or the lid has not been screwed on tightly enough. Ensure the seals are correctly seated before securely tightening the top screw handle.

If the problem persists after checking and adjusting the seals, you may need to replace some or all of the top seals.

If pressure is escaping from the bottom of the Bellman steamer

If you find the base is leaking when under pressure it is important not to continue using the Bellman until the unit has been inspected for any signs of wear or damage.

If you have never removed the base bolt for cleaning or seal replacement, and find that it is leaking water or bubbling out of the bottom when under pressure, you may need to replace the base seal. It is important when replacing the base seal to also check the base nut and centre shaft for any damage or wear. The centre shaft bolt and bottom nut must be in good condition to ensure the top of the Bellman stays securely attached when under pressure.
